Privacy policy
We process personal data sparingly, for defined purposes and transparently. The following information is provided pursuant to Art. 13 GDPR.
1. Controller
K P S Konstruktions- & Planungs Service GmbH
Augustaanlage 50, D-68165 Mannheim
Phone: +49 621 4310910
E-mail: info@kpsgmbh.com
Represented by: Mario Kirchberger, Harald Sommer
2. Data protection officer
We are not legally required to appoint a data protection officer. For any data protection matter please contact the controller named above, marked „Datenschutz“.
3. Hosting and server log files
When you access this website, our hosting provider automatically processes technical access data (IP address in shortened or full form, date and time, page requested, data volume transferred, referrer, browser type and operating system). This processing is technically necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation). Log data is generally deleted after 30 days at the latest, unless a security-related evaluation requires longer retention. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with our hosting provider.
4. Cookies and consent
By default this website uses only technically necessary storage technologies. This includes a local storage entry that records your cookie choice. The legal basis is Sec. 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications and Digital Services Data Protection Act) in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Optional categories (statistics, marketing) are only activated after your explicit consent (Sec. 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with effect for the future:
Overview of the storage technologies used
| Name | Category | Purpose | Storage period | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| kps-cookie-consent-v1 | necessary | Stores your choice per category (necessary, analytics, marketing) in local storage, together with the time, language, text version and a random identifier as proof of consent. No personal identifiers are transmitted to us. | 365 days, then asked again; revocable at any time via the footer | KPS GmbH (first party) |
| kps.contact.outbox | necessary | Local storage buffer for enquiries whose transmission failed, so that sending can be retried later. The data remains solely in your browser. | 7 days, then deleted automatically | KPS GmbH (first party) |
| kps-theme | necessary | Stores your display preference (light, dark or system setting) in local storage. It is not transmitted to us or to third parties. | until changed or until you clear your browser storage | KPS GmbH (first party) |
Third-party statistics or marketing services (e.g. reach measurement, retargeting) are not integrated at present. If you consent to the “analytics” category, usage events and load-time measurements are processed solely in your browser’s memory and are not transmitted to third parties; without consent this processing does not take place. Should we use an external analytics service in future, we will extend this overview and activate it only after your consent.
5. Contact and enquiry form
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or via the enquiry form, we process the data you provide in order to handle your enquiry. Data entered into the enquiry form is transmitted over an encrypted connection and forwarded to us by e-mail. It is not stored in a database on this website and is not used for advertising purposes.
For the e-mail delivery of form enquiries we use the service Web3Forms (operated by Web3Forms LLP) as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Only the data you enter in the form (name, company, e-mail address, telephone number, subject, message) and technical transmission data are transferred. The service forwards the enquiry directly to our mailbox and does not store the content permanently. This processing also takes place outside the EU/EEA; we rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). See section 7 for details.
To protect against automated submissions, the form uses a hidden mandatory field, a minimum completion time and a short-term limit on the number of submissions per IP address. Your IP address is evaluated only transiently in the server’s memory for this purpose (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in preventing abuse and spam) and is discarded automatically after a short period, usually within one hour. No cookies are set and no profiles are created.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual enquiries, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR together with your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. We delete the data as soon as it is no longer required; statutory retention obligations, in particular under the German Commercial Code (HGB) and Fiscal Code (AO), remain unaffected.
6. Applications
We process application documents solely to carry out the recruitment procedure (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, Sec. 26(1) BDSG, the German Federal Data Protection Act) and delete them no later than six months after the procedure has ended, unless you have consented to longer storage.
7. Recipients and transfers to third countries
Your data is only passed on to processors required to operate this website (hosting, e-mail delivery of form enquiries) and to bodies we are legally obliged to inform.
When form enquiries are sent via Web3Forms, data is also processed outside the EU/EEA, in particular in the USA. We base this transfer on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR, supplemented by contractual confidentiality and deletion obligations. Despite these safeguards, a level of protection equivalent to that in the EU cannot be guaranteed in every case; in particular, access by authorities in that third country cannot be ruled out. You can contact us by e-mail or telephone instead at any time.
8. External content, map and fonts
This website does not embed fonts, videos or analytics scripts from external providers without your consent. No automatic transmission of your IP address to third parties takes place in this respect.
Our contact page offers a map by OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge CB4 0WS, United Kingdom). The map is not loaded automatically. A connection to OpenStreetMap is only established once you press “Load map”, at which point your IP address is transmitted. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR together with Sec. 25(1) TDDDG, revocable at any time by reloading the page. See osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.
9. Your rights
- Access to the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
10. Status
This privacy policy is updated whenever data processing on this website changes. Status: 2026.
